The Process from A – Z

  • Entries open for South African wine producers to submit samples of available bulk wine
  • Samples are arranged in varietal flights for tasting by the judging panel
  • Judging takes place by a panel of wine buyers and every wine gets scored
  • Wines are then labelled with all relative information displayed such as: Varietal, Origin, Reserve Price per Litre, Volume available, Accreditations, Analysis and Judges score.
  • Trading Floor: Wines are all on display and buyers taste the wines with all information at hand.
  • Bidding takes the form of a silent auction where buyers can place their bet on a particular lot by hanging a neck tag on the bottle. The highest bid gets the wine at the end of the session.
  • Contracting takes place at the end of the session and the wine is secured per contract between the cellar and buyer.
